Shark Tank

Shark Tank

Shark Tank fever has hit lovepop HQ. In the months, weeks, and days leading up to our airing the excitement has steadily increased. We couldn't believe it when the big day finally arrived. Friday morning started off like any other, a pleasant day in the office for the lovepop team. Well, except for the camera crew that was here filming our every move - totally normal.

As the time drew near, there was a flurry of activity and a steady stream of well-wishers and friends arriving at the lovepop office. Some of us started to get a little freaked out. Is the site going to crash? Shark Tank's audience is massive after all. Will people fall in love with our product? Do we have enough cards for everyone!?!

So many questions and concerns. We had no idea what to expect once our Shark Tank feature aired. There is no "How to handle the Shark Tank Juggernaut" manual out there. There is a lot of hard work and preparation that goes into preparing for the feature but once the day of airing arrives there is a limit to what you can do, besides drinking can after can of Red Bull.

You can't make more product if demand exceeds expectations. It's not possible to switch platforms if you lose confidence in your site's ability to sustain a high volume of simultaneous traffic. When the moment is hours away, there are tweaks here and there that the team can make but ultimately everyone has to take a collective deep breath and let the cards fall where they may. <-- See what I did there.

We were holding out breaths as John and Wombi appeared on the screen, as soon as Kevin O'Leary, AKA Mr. Wonderful closed the deal we lost our minds. People were cheering, hugging, and tweeting as quickly as their thumbs would allow. We couldn't believe the hard part was over.

The site sustained a ton of traffic; people were sending well-wishes and fantastic card design ideas, and the hard part was behind us. Or so we thought. Over the next few days we heard from thousands of people who wanted to learn more about lovepop, tell us their pop-up ideas, and as what Mr. Wonderful is really like. He is wonderful!

Turns out once the Shark Tank feature has aired there's a whole lot more work to do. Having your brand and product introduced to the world on a large scale via Shark Tank is an absolute blessing, you only have one chance to get it right.

We are ecstatic with how the feature and viewer reactions turned out but are still working around the clock to ensure we fulfill orders on time, delight our customers, and make the #somethingwonderful family proud.
