This past January, we mailed Lovepop cards to educators across the country.
A Virginia teacher named Mrs. Sharon Krasny fell in love with our designs — especially Japanese Maple! She asked if Lovepop would be willing to donate cards in support of Kettle Run High School’s National Honor Society scholarship program.
We were so excited about the opportunity to help the students at this school and gladly donated some of our coolest designs. Kettle Run students sold Lovepops and competed for top sales, raising $3,000 in scholarship funds to award some of their most outstanding classmates.
In addition to creating magical moments for their classmates, participating students learned public speaking, sales, and other transferable skills that will help set them up for success in college.
“When Lovepop got behind our students by believing in their power to impact, students were stunned that someone from outside of their community supported them, which doesn't typically happen,” wrote Sharon. “Typically students are used to family and friends believing in them, but a corporate leader five states away was very powerful and humbling.”
Danielle recorded more than 106 service hours — while taking AP courses and playing softball for her school. She’ll attend Christopher Newport University to earn a degree in the medical field next fall.
“I promise this scholarship will not go to waste as the funds will aid in all that I accomplish in college so Thank you! I cannot express how much this means to me,” she said. “Your act of kindness does not go unnoticed and I will continue that kindness far into my future as it is people that care that can change the world for the better.”
Gracie will attend Colorado School of Mines in the fall to major in engineering. She was the National Honor Society’s president and led a service project to collect onesies and make 30 fleece blankets for her local hospital’s Newborns in Need.
Rachel will be studying engineering at the University of Virginia and will use her scholarship funds to help buy textbooks next fall. “In my future, I hope to encourage a student’s goals in education just as you have encouraged mine,” she said.
And Sean, another winner, said, "Through your very generous donation of hundreds of beautiful, elegantly designed cards, Lovepop not only supported me in my academic career but also supported the society which means so much to me."
